A PDF file on the other hand is a proprietary (BINARY) file format that belongs to the Adobe company. A PDF file is NOT an ASCII text file, there are NOT control strings used in the creation of a PDF file, so you must use something like ODS PDF in order to make a PDF output file from your SAS procedure output. Output from this kind of repetitive analysis can be difficult to navigate scrolling through the output window. Writing SAS output to.pdf and.html files provides a way to view the output in a way that is easy to navigate using bookmarks. We will use the hsb2 dataset in the examples.
